đź’¨ Abstract

Reddit is challenging Australia's law banning children under 16 from social media, arguing that it restricts free political discourse and that Reddit should be exempt as it is not a traditional social media platform. The company contends that it facilitates knowledge sharing rather than social interactions, and that the law's verification processes are intrusive and potentially insecure. Reddit also suggests that allowing restricted accounts for minors could better protect them.
