💨 Abstract
Pakistan has promoted its Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, to the rank of field marshal and extended the service tenure of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu. This is the second time in Pakistan's history that an officer has achieved this rank, the last being General Ayub Khan in 1959. The promotions follow recent conflicts, including Operation Sindoor, and have been endorsed by both the government and the president.
