💨 Abstract
India's coal imports from April 2024 to February 2025 fell 9.2% to 220.3 million tonnes, saving around ₹53,137.82 crore in foreign exchange. This decline was more pronounced (15.3%) in the non-regulated sector. Despite a 2.87% increase in coal-based power generation, imports for thermal power plants decreased by 38.8%.
