💨 Abstract

India increased thermal coal imports by 2% from April-July 2022 compared to the previous year, to enhance power generation. Overall coal imports rose by 0.9% to 90.51 million metric tons. Thermal power generation increased by 11.1% during the same period, with imports accounting for 75% more in coal-based power plants.
