💨 Abstract
The Department of Financial Services (DFS) in India notified the fourth round of amalgamation of Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) starting May 1, 2025, reducing 43 RRBs to 28 entities, with one per state or Union Territory. This move aims to improve the viability, financial performance, and reach of RRBs, which serve rural and agrarian communities.
