💨 Abstract
Australian writer Yang Hengjun, convicted of espionage charges he denies, was handed a suspended death sentence in China. He wrote to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese seeking help to return home for medical reasons. Yang, born in China and living in the U.S., was arrested in 2019 in Guangzhou. Minister Wong expressed Australia's desire to reunite him with his family in Australia. Despite his arrest and detainment, details and consulting parties of the charges remain unpublished.
