đ¨ Abstract
Malaysia, a major palm oil producer, has expressed hope for a more accommodative approach from European lawmakers regarding sustainable policies, following a European Commission proposal to delay a law banning imports of products linked to deforestation. The proposed delay aims to give producing countries time to comply and rectify their policies. Malaysia and Indonesia have strongly opposed the EU law, calling it discriminatory and protective of the bloc's oilseeds market. Malaysia is committed to meeting global sustainable targets.
