The Bihar government clarified that Ram Babu Singh, who died on duty in Jammu and Kashmir, was an Army soldier, not a BSF jawan, and his death was due to a road accident, not a battle. Initially, the Chief Minister’s Office had misidentified him and promised Rs 50 lakh compensation. Singh's body arrived in Patna without a guard of honour typically given to martyrs.
