The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar is protesting against the installation of smart pre-paid electricity meters, claiming it's an attempt to extort money from consumers, particularly the poor. RJD leaders allege that the move benefits power companies and causes financial strain on consumers as bills have reportedly surged four to fivefold.
