In Chhattisgarh, senior Maoist leader Niti, carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakh, was killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Dantewada-Narayanpur. Two days prior, she opposed the construction of roads and setting up of a police camp in a meeting with villagers in Gawadi village. Residents of Gawadi also express reluctance to have roads due to potential police camps.
