💨 Abstract
The Election Commission in India has dismissed claims by Congress leaders of tampering in EVMs during the Haryana elections. The Commission explained that alkaline batteries are used in EVMs, and initial battery strength varies from 7.5 to 8 volts. As the EVM is used, the voltage decreases, and the battery capacity is displayed accordingly. The control unit remains functional when the battery has more than 5.8 volts.
