💨 Abstract
The southwest monsoon advanced into parts of the south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, and Nicobar Islands on May 13. Heavy rainfall and increased westerly winds marked this onset. The India Meteorological Department predicts further advancement into neighboring regions, including the south Arabian Sea and central Bay of Bengal, within the next three to four days.
