In the 5th National Water Awards 2023, Odisha emerged as the top winner, followed by Uttar Pradesh in second place. Gujarat and Puducherry shared the third spot. Odisha's achievements in water conservation include constructing over 53,000 water structures, renovating 11,000 traditional water bodies, and setting up 21,000 wastewater treatment plants.
