💨 Abstract
In Chennai, over 4,000 exotic small turtles, primarily Red Eared Slider and Albino Red-eared slider turtles, were seized at the airport. Two individuals were arrested under the Customs Act, 1962 for allegedly smuggling the turtles from Malaysia. The seizure was made on September 27, following specific inputs about wildlife smuggling. An investigation is ongoing.
