In Jamshedpur, the Jharkhand Banglabhashi Unanyan Samity protested the lack of Bengali language teachers and textbooks in schools. They handed a memorandum to the deputy commissioner, demanding Bengali education and opposing the renaming of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee University in Ranchi. The Samity accused Education Minister Ramdas Soren of misleading remarks about Bengali-speaking students and alleged a conspiracy to marginalize the Bengali language in Jharkhand.
