Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for a mass movement to revive polluted and endangered rivers, emphasizing collective responsibility. He highlighted the cultural significance of rivers and criticized unplanned urbanization and pollution. Adityanath directed immediate steps for the Gomti River, including a detailed project report, separate sewer and stormwater drainage systems, and zero liquid discharge. He also mandated similar action plans for the Hindon and Varuna rivers, with regular monitoring.
