đź’¨ Abstract
On August 5, 1965, Pakistan initiated infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir, leading to a full-scale army operation. Foreign Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto secured presidential approval for the operation, aiming to defreeze the Kashmir problem and bring India to the negotiation table without provoking a general war. On September 1, Pakistan launched an attack on India, capturing Chamb and advancing towards Akhnoor.
