💨 Abstract

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto accused Israeli forces of illegally shooting at UN peacekeeper positions in Lebanon, possibly committing a war crime. The U.N. peacekeeping mission, UNIFIL, stated two peacekeepers were injured. Crosetto protested to the Israeli counterpart and summoned the Israeli ambassador, demanding an explanation. Israel has sought to move UNIFIL peacekeepers away from the border, but Italy contests this.
