đź’¨ Abstract
The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) monitored a Chinese navy warship during its live-fire exercise in the Tasman Sea, which caused 49 commercial flights to be rerouted in February. The Chinese navy warned of the exercise on a civilian radio broadcast, which was initially picked up by a Virgin Australia pilot. The RAAF's P-8A Poseidon aircraft were conducting surveillance and monitoring the warship's transmissions.
