💨 Abstract
In Botswana's recent election, the ruling BDP party lost its parliamentary majority, according to the private Mmegi newspaper and state radio. Based on results from 36 of the 61 constituencies, opposition parties are reported to have won more than half the seats. The Botswana Democratic Party won only one seat, while the opposition coalition Umbrella for Democratic Change won 23.
