💨 Abstract

In late June, a former security minister and ex-judge of Costa Rica, Celso Gamboa Sanchez was arrested by Costa Rica's judicial police following a U.S. extradition request, and was subsequently charged with conspiracy to import cocaine. A collaborator, Edwin Lopez Vega, was also captured in Costa Rica. Sanchez, who previously held high-ranking positions in Costa Rica's government, has been jailed and is awaiting extradition to the United States.
