đź’¨ Abstract
A fire at a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana killed 40 people, including 26 teenagers, and injured 116 from various countries. The bar had not had a mandatory annual inspection since 2019 and lacked a fire alarm. Prosecutors suspect that sparkling candles ignited the foam soundproofing material on the basement ceiling. The bar's owners are under investigation for negligence.
