French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed Antoine Armand, 33, as Finance Minister, a relative newcomer to politics who was first elected to parliament in 2022 on Macron's centrist ticket. Armand, a former finance inspector, will handle the budget and manage France's rising deficit. Bruno Retailleau, 63, a conservative senator known for his hard-right views, has been appointed Interior Minister.
