Mozambique will hold presidential and parliamentary elections on October 9, concluding President Filipe Nyusi's two-term tenure. The ruling Frelimo party, in power since the country's independence in 1975, has chosen Daniel Chapo as their candidate, despite his low profile. Opposition leader Ossufo Momade, who came in second in the last election, is also running.
