đź’¨ Abstract
Libya has experienced ongoing chaos and division since 2011. An uprising led to Muammar Gaddafi's ouster, followed by election of an interim government in 2012. However, power struggles between armed groups dominated. In 2014, the country split between two competing administrations backed by regional militias and international supporters. Conflicts raged, including an Islamic State presence until 2016.
