💨 Abstract
India and Bangladesh started joint water measurements on the Padma and Ganga rivers as the 30-year Ganges Water Sharing Treaty nears its end in December 2026. Teams from both countries are measuring water levels at designated points from January 1 to May 31. The treaty, signed in 1996, is crucial for water management and sharing between the two nations. Renewal discussions have already begun.
