💨 Abstract
Italy's parliament has made it illegal for couples to go abroad for surrogacy, a move supported by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's party. Activists claim the law targets same-sex partners. The bill, which already passed the lower house last year, extends the existing surrogacy ban to those traveling to countries where it is legal, imposing penalties of up to two years in prison and fines of up to 1 million euros.
