Cuba experienced widespread power outages on Thursday evening, with more than half of the country left without electricity due to fuel shortages and broken power plants. The National Electric Union reported a deficit of nearly 1600 megawatts with a demand approaching 3,200 MW, leaving millions without lights, fans, and air conditioning.
