đź’¨ Abstract
Families of 72 victims of the Jeju Air crash in December filed a criminal complaint against 15 individuals, including South Korean government officials and airline safety representatives, alleging negligence and violations of the Aviation Safety Act. The crash, the deadliest on South Korean soil, killed 179 people at Muan Airport. The families demanded a more thorough investigation into the decision to attempt a landing after a bird strike, aircraft maintenance, and the runway's embankment construction.
