💨 Abstract
US lawmakers have urged Secretary of State Antony Blinken to press Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to uphold human rights protections, release political prisoners, and condemn provocative statements against Armenia before the COP29 climate summit in Baku next month. The lawmakers believe such actions are necessary to maintain peace negotiations and create a conducive environment for successful diplomacy at COP29.
