AI is transforming education by excelling in explanation and self-directed learning, making it a baseline expectation in professional life and classrooms. While AI can handle instruction, practice generation, and initial feedback, it falls short in judgment, motivation, and certification. Teachers' roles are shifting towards these areas, focusing on judgment, calibration, and maintaining standards. This change may require smaller classes and more teachers with different responsibilities. However, this model assumes student maturity and discipline, which may not be suitable for all learners.
