The ANCWL CarGate scandal involves Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe, who received two Chinese-built BAIC SUVs from the ANC Women’s League but did not declare them. Tolashe registered the vehicles in her children's names to avoid detection. ActionSA, which has opened a criminal case, alleges that one SUV was sold, indicating personal benefit. Tolashe denies any personal gain, stating she feared the vehicles would be attached if registered with the ANC.
