💨 Abstract
A growing trend of "reverse emigration" is seeing South Africans return home from abroad. Driven by the high cost of living overseas and the rise of remote work, many, particularly younger Gen Zs, are finding South Africa more affordable. The TEFL Academy's 2026 Emigration Report indicates that around 300,000 of the one million South Africans living abroad are considering returning.
