💨 Abstract
In Q2 2025, South Africa's unemployment rate rose by 0.8%, with 80,000 jobs lost, primarily in services, trade, and manufacturing. Full-time employment increased slightly, while part-time jobs decreased. Despite job losses, gross earnings and basic salaries saw a notable increase. The mining and electricity sectors showed job growth, while bonuses paid to employees decreased. The government's role in stimulating job creation is questioned.
