After their 38-22 loss to Australia's Wallabies, South Africa's Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie praised the Springboks, asserting that South Africans were still proud of them. The loss knocked South Africa out of World Rugby's top ranking. Springboks captain Siya Kolisi expressed disappointment with the performance but promised to elevate the team for the next match against the Wallabies on August 23.
