đź’¨ Abstract

Airlines may see significant fuel savings due to the increasing use of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, which could reduce average passenger weight. A 10% reduction in passenger weight on a Boeing 737 Max 8 could lower fuel consumption by 1.5% per flight, potentially saving major U.S. airlines around $580 million annually. This trend highlights how societal health changes can impact aviation economics and fuel efficiency.
