💨 Abstract
A top-performing matric student, Maselesele Lamanani, has called on the Department of Basic Education to stop publishing matric results in newspapers, citing privacy concerns and the potential for public pressure and depression. The Information Regulator has expressed similar concerns, but a recent court ruling has allowed the department to continue the practice, which has been criticized by several matriculants.
