💨 Abstract

South Africa saw a 20.9% reduction in fatal road crashes and a 20.8% reduction in fatalities from December 1-16 compared to the previous year. Gauteng, despite reducing crashes by 12%, remains the province with the highest fatalities, recording 105 deaths. The Free State showed the most significant improvement, with a 67.2% decrease in fatalities.
