💨 Abstract
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced significant changes to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), moving it to a four-year cycle starting after the 2027 tournament. This decision aims to reduce the burden on players due to congested football calendars. Additionally, CAF will introduce the Africa Nations League in 2028, an annual competition during FIFA international windows, divided into regional groups.
