đź’¨ Abstract
In Angola, fuel protests turned deadly with 22 fatalities and 197 injuries after diesel prices increased from 300 to 400 kwanzas per litre. The hike sparked a three-day nationwide taxi strike and widespread violence. The government blamed worsening economic conditions, with inflation near 20% and unemployment below 30%. The IMF encouraged subsidy cuts to fund health and education.
