💨 Abstract

South Africa's motorists may face significant fuel price hikes in April due to the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has driven global oil prices above $100 per barrel. The war has disrupted energy markets and increased the cost of fuel imports. A weaker rand has exacerbated the situation, and planned fuel levy increases from April 1 will add to the cost. Estimates suggest petrol could rise by nearly R4 per litre, and diesel by up to R6.75
