💨 Abstract
In the 2025 Budget Speech, Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana announced that social grants will increase as previously planned, despite the reversal of a proposed VAT hike. The old age grant will rise to R2,310 in April 2025 and R2,320 in October. The COVID-19 social relief grant will extend to March 2026, with plans to integrate it with employment opportunities.
