💨 Abstract
The Minister of Higher Education and Training in South Africa, Buti Manamela, has issued a Notice of Intent to cancel the registration of three private higher education institutions—City Varsity, Damelin, and ICESA City Campus—due to prolonged non-compliance with the Higher Education Act. The decision is based on failure to submit annual reports, demonstrate financial and operational sustainability, and evidence of institutional cessation. The institutions will have the opportunity to respond, and the department will support affected students.
