Community groups in Cape Town are outraged following the death of Dennis Hammar, a 76-year-old cyclist who was attacked and robbed. Dennis was a beloved figure in the cycling community, having completed over 40 consecutive Cape Town Cycle Tours. He suffered fatal injuries after being pushed off his bicycle by an unidentified attacker on N1, joining FW de Klerk Boulevard. His death has sparked calls for stronger policing and better safety measures in crime hotspots.
