💨 Abstract
A Cape club cricketer, Tristan Perez, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Elana Brooke, and is suspected of staging her death as a suicide. Perez, known in Western Province cricket circles, was arrested on March 23 and remanded to Pollsmoor Prison. The case is postponed until April 9 for a formal bail hearing. Police found a recording of a heated argument on Perez's phone, leading to his arrest.
