💨 Abstract
Cape Town is encouraging beachgoers to keep its shores clean and safe this summer. The City's Recreation and Parks Department has intensified beach maintenance efforts, including a major clean-up at Maiden’s Cove. Councillor Francine Higham emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining the city's beautiful and biodiverse beaches. The city is promoting the Four Golden Rules for Safe Swimming and urging responsible behavior, such as not drinking alcohol on the beach and using provided bins.
