💨 Abstract
Cape Town is using drones and community surveys to map its pet population, aiming to reduce stray animals. The first Domestic Animal Survey counted 32,185 animals, with 1,749 identified via drones. Over 13,000 residents participated in-person, and 9,000 online. The data is now on a Spatial Data Dashboard for public and policy use.
