💨 Abstract
In Cape Town, nearly 100 drunk-driving arrests were made in a single week, accounting for over a quarter of total arrests. The City of Cape Town reported 387 arrests, up from 355 the previous week, with a significant increase in assault cases. JP Smith, Mayco Member for Safety and Security, urged residents to avoid drunk-driving and not bring alcohol to public spaces. Metro Police and Law Enforcement made numerous arrests and issued thousands of fines.
