💨 Abstract

South Africa's murder rate dropped by 6.9% from April to June 2025 and by 11.5% from July to September 2025, with 63 people still dying daily. While overall contact crimes decreased, sexual offenses and some violent crime subcategories increased. Police have intensified operations for the festive season to enhance community safety.
