💨 Abstract
Durban has been chosen to lead South Africa's bid for the 2036 or 2040 Olympics, aiming to bring the Games to Africa for the first time. The coastal city will host the majority of events, including the opening and closing ceremonies, utilizing existing infrastructure like Moses Mabhida Stadium. While Durban is the preferred host, Cape Town and Johannesburg may also host specific events.
